Minutemen - OMG ALIENS
You know what I need? this. XD

Well. Almost as much as I ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY NEED THIS. Now I just have to work up the nerve to order it, because hey, I don't have a sleeping bag. But it is kind of expensive... and I think even if I miss the preorder, there will be more...? But I waaaaaant it!

Okay, back to writing. I fear I may actually finish another chapter today, which somehow makes me feel less productive, not more. XD;

work
So far I am disappointed in this tropical storm everyone's been talking about. All it's done is made it HOT all over again when the weather was just getting nice! Boo. D:

This week is going to be totally crazy; the buses aren't running tomorrow for the holiday so I think I'm going to try to work from home. But I also got in late today (stupid pest control - or, well, stupid me, I really need to learn to not go back to bed even if I still have 20 minutes before I need to get up) so I'm going to stay late tonight to catch up, since I don't have to run. I had this weird dream this morning though, which I can only partly remember, but I think it involved Jake from Hannah Montana. Like, we'd accidentally body-swapped or something, and we kept trying to get back to our own bodies but nothing we tried worked. XD; That's pretty fail, brain.

Friday and Saturday is STARS (including a scavenger hunt and ahaha, I don't know my way around campus! ::diiies::), and Sunday is Disney. I'm actually really just looking forward to going to Epcot, plunking myself down in one of the countries, and sitting for a nice long while with a coffee or something. Since I'll likely either be by myself (or hopefully with [info]violet_lane), I can take it easy and just enjoy the atmosphere, which I really want to do. :D Especially since I get in for free! And then hopefully I will get home in time for Venture Bros. XD

Also, to all you NaNo people posting snippets, I keep meaning to read everything you've posted up so far and I haven't gotten to do it yet! But I will! It probably doesn't help that all my spare time is spent plugging away at my own crazy epic PJO fic or reading 501st, which I am about halfway through and really don't want to put down. I'm going to be so sad when it's done (but at this point I am still hopeful that there will still be more to come!). Also, it really makes me want to write a clone fic. You know. In all my spare time. >>; (But seriously. I <3 Niner. Niner needs more love. Lots more. <3)

Okay, off to enjoy a few more minutes of "lunch break" before getting back to work. I want to have some final-ish tables by tonight, I can do it!

Dar's nicked all your cakes, Captain.

Obi-Wan - don't cross me
Wow. First of all, Clone Wars? I really have to hand it to them tonight. That was a fabulous episode. Not to mention hardcore. I mean, people were dying all over the place. There were larty gunships going down all over and Geonosians carting troopers off and plenty going down to blaster fire. Plus, they're usually fighting tinnies. I wonder if parents are really cool with kids watching troopers use flamethrowers on Geonosians. They may be bugs, but they're not robots, either. D: They've really stepped it up; I'm really excited for next week now!

Also, Ben 10? Finally found some good writers. Thank you. That was actually in-character, possibly for the first time this season that did not involve losing someone's left hand (because let's face it, that was ridiculous). XDD Kevin was so, so priceless~ ("Hey! No one knocks him around but me!") Though their "sneak peek" at Alien Swarm was a total bust - they showed the whole clip in the commercial announcing there'd be a sneak peek! Laaaame, Cartoon Network. Lame.

Oh, but speaking of Star Wars, I'm about 130 pages into 501st. It's like... nostalgic or something, because even though it's obviously a new book, I'm remembering sitting around the house last Christmas and reading Triple Zero for some reason. (Well, of course, it also makes me nostalgic for the good old days when certain people were not dead and there was no Evil Empire. D:) But I'm really enjoying it thus far, even if things are just kind of coming together after the setup, since a number of things changed when the Emperor took power. Plus, I just love Niner all that much more. And I really want to go back and read Hard Contact again. It makes me want to wear my Boba Fett hoodie around. XD And it's starting to get into temperatures where I can do that! Woo~ (Also? Carlyyyyyy, you need to read these Republic Commando novels. After Percy Jackson, of course~ ;D)

Plans for this weekend involve avoiding the football game (or, well, campus during the football game), getting a new futon cover and some stuffing for the pillows I'm making, because I only had enough to stuff one. XD But yay for $1.50 Wal-Mart fabric? I also need to take another look at job listings, and hopefully figure out this variability stuff that's still giving me issues. Oh, and read papers on cluster interlopers. I can't forget about those. I would also like to get the next chapter of PJO stuff out, because even though I only have the end of it written, I have plenty of stuff to fill in. Maybe I'll work on that in a bit. There are some contest entries that also need to be looked at. And apparently STARS is next week (Friday and Saturday, but thankfully not Sunday so I can still go to Disney~) so I have stuff to do for that, but nothing that can't wait 'till next week, I think.

Guh. That was probably pretty boring, but. Happy Friday everyone!

Anakin & Obi-Wan WUT
Welcome to day 3 of November and the end of DST! I just love watching the clock go from 1:59 to 1:00 over again. There's something very... master of space and time-y about it, maybe. :D;It does, however, severely limit my afternoon sunlight, which is distressing since it means I have to rush home earlier than 5 if I want to run four and a half miles before darkness descends. At least the weather finally seemed to figure out it was FALL, PEOPLE, and it's a lovely 71 or so outside right now. Oh man, I'm so excited. I really hope it doesn't get hot again. ._.;

So! Good luck to all those doing NaNo; I would be with you if I wasn't suddenly trying to finish up a PhD this year (because between writing and astronomy? We all know which I'd rather spend my time doing XD;). Although I'm beginning to think that despite the fact that I'm not doing NaNo, I may end up writing just as much this month. XD; I finally figured out how to do this interim scene in my PJO fic (ahaha, completely differently than it was originally supposed to go, and of course I figured this out as I was almost done with it so now I have to go back and rewrite it all). And as soon as the middle stuff is done, we get to the GOOD STUFF. >D I'm really curious to see what readers will think. There are at least a few people who leave consistent reviews over at fanfiction.net and I really look forward to seeing their reactions. But hopefully by GOOD STUFF I mean that I know mostly what's going to happen already, and I'm really looking forward to writing it. I mean, a big long scene between Percy and Hades? Total win~ Plus, Percy is turning out to have a lot more thoughts on things than I originally thought, and I really like that. Things I hadn't even thought of end up tying together ever-so-nicely, it's really pretty awesome. (Seriously, if I put this much energy into The Dead Prince it'd be a whole series of published novels by now. ::fail:: I really need to get working on that.)

At least I've also got a number of contests lined up for this month, and I want to get working on some original stuff for those as well. One of them even involves Greek mythology! And another I can totally garner inspiration from Firefly. That's not cheating, right? It's just inspiration!

As for the weekend, I spent my Halloween watching way too much HGTV and now I want to redecorate my entire apartment. ::dies:: Actually, the worst part is I may be actually thinking about it, albeit more along the lines of moving out some of the anime stuff and putting up some of the nicer stuff that's been sitting in my closet for years. I fear I may be ::gasp!:: acquiring a somewhat more grown-up sense of taste. I don't know what to say. XD But never fear, even if I were to undertake such a task, the number of Ryomas in my living room would likely only go down slightly. I mean, come on. Some of them would need to stay! It's really too bad I probably won't be here long enough to bother painting; my mom's been trying to get me to paint the place for years, but with the actual real possibility that I may be leaving within a year, it's likely not worth it. Still, now I'm inspired to paint my future place! Though the inspiration may not last until I next move... XD;

Then Sunday was Star Wars in Concert with Nathan and Scott, and that was really pretty awesome. That screen was HUGE! Plus, during intermission this woman came around and offered all of us pretty awesome seats on the first level not far from the stage, since that section hadn't sold out. Who were we to say no? The concert was really enjoyable and there were all these little kids and the exhibit was pretty awesome too. Then we had dinner at Outback and after we got home Nathan ended up stopping by around midnight for Venture Bros, which was a very... special episode. XD; Man, it's so weird to watch just one new one a week when I blew through the first three seasons like crazy!

Diana and Kevin had invited me to the Disney Halloween Party that night too, but with the ending time of the concert and the time it would take me to get to Orlando, it really wasn't quite worth it since I wouldn't be able to make the whole event. I would have really liked to go, but I think maybe it was better that I didn't spend the whole concert freaking out about when it was going to end and how I was going to zoom out of there and still be late, because that would've probably lowered my enjoyment of the whole thing. Next year, guys! Because clearly I have to go to the Halloween Party for the rest of my life~ <3 I may even try out the Christmas Party this year!

Speaking of Disney, I should check and see if the Food & Wine Festival is still going on; I think I'll go to Epcot for my birthday regardless, but that would certainly be an added bonus! And also totally randomly, Tyler and Valerie have decided we're going to Canada in May, so this should be exciting. At least it means I'll get to see [info]pergamond! :D (I could probably fit my PS2 in my baaaag~)

And finally, because this entry is getting absurdly long, I don't know what I did but I must have slept really, really wrong because my neck is killing me today. All I want to do is go home and steal Sashi's heating pad. :x Ouch.

--

EDIT: Who did not tell me that the Imperial Commando book is already out? D: I believe a trip to Borders tonight is required.
Paris & Kim - Double Trouble
Board Game Night must have been awfully wacky last night... Scott and Nathan have yet to show up. XD

Also, there is talk of wearing costumes to work tomorrow. I'm thinking something normal-clothes-ish, like Penny or my Star Trek shirt. Hm. Suggestions? :O Camp Half-Blood shirt? XD;

Okay, back to making my numerous little IDL programs into ONE BIG IDL PROGRAM OMG. I can do this! Then it's off to re-examine my variability criteria and confirm my optical-x-ray-IR matches. I want to have a giant table of awesomeness (or maybe twelve little tables of awesomeness) by tomorrow! (I'd actually really like to be writing, but since it's only 12:55 and I have at least five more hours of astronomy before I can feel good enough about myself to go home, guess I better put that one on the backburner. XD)

Ryoma
So... this shall be a rambly entry on probably nothing useful whatsoever. XD; It has been a fairly busy week, what with my dad visiting over last weekend (which bled into Monday, which also included 7.5 miles of running, Heroes, and The Dark Knight) and [info]pergamond and me trying to date random tennis players by asking them questions in a language that we do not understand. XD (Yesterday we made it all the way to the festival, and we totally got Ryoma to ask for our phone number! That was fabulous~ And then we started again at Rikkai, and Niou made us clean out the storeroom and we fainted - GO US - and it was hilarious because Niou came back and was all, "OMG I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT YOU OOPS". But at least it got us points with him. ;D) Today is a short run (3.5 miles) and an attempt to eat dinner with very little food in my house, and then early tomorrow morning (like, nine ;_;) I have to leave to get Frank from the airport in Orlando. Then it's a weekend of Disney, woo!

So don't get me wrong, I've had a fabulous week and am really looking forward to this weekend. But I am definitely also looking forward to next week when I should have a few days to sit around and do nothing but write in the evenings. XD The Ties That Bind is a bit behind, but I should have the next chapter out early next week. I had to sit down and think about this one scene I was writing, because at first I realized it showed nothing new (and was not required) but then got this inspiration to make it actually useful, which is good, but now I've got to figure out just how I want to do it. And after I've managed to pass enough time in-story, we get to the good stuff. >D I'm really looking forward to that. I also really need to write my Halloween entry for the fic battle, which I haven't really touched since Sunday when I was jotting stuff down in between downs. XD I'm still not sure whether there is actual conflict in the story, but we'll see. Maybe it can be just a meandering piece or something... Must think on that!

Aaaand I think that might be it for now. Gonna get some work done in the hopes that I really can graduate next year. We're going to assess where I am in December and make a more final decision, but as for now I'm going to work like I can graduate next summer. Plus, we just actually got some GTC data! Here's hoping it actually helps. XD

BUT FIRST. WHAT is up with the episode synopsis for Alien Force tonight? Dear God. XD We already did this on Venture Bros, people. ::dies::
Will - upside-down (peek-a-boo)
So! I would say welcome to a real update, but I don't know that anything I'm going to update about is actually useful to anyone. XD; But here it is, nonetheless.

Sunday was made of football (woo!) and Venture Bros (double woo!). Although I must say, the Bears totally self-destructed and it was horribly embarrassing, alas. I mean, they kept false-starting and it was just ridiculous. Sigh. Then it was time for the season 4 premiere of VB, which did not disappoint. It was crazy! ("Oh holy crap, you're Nazis!" XDD) I think Dad was somewhat confused, seeing as I'd only shown him two episodes from season 1 and the last two of season 3, and then the premiere wasn't exactly told in chronological order and the only thing we had to go off of was Hank's hair, which is fine when you need to tell short from long, but then there were varying degrees of long and yeah. XD; But this season is certainly looking epic. Or something. Yeah. XD

Monday after dropping my dad off at the airport I came back and did my longest run yet: 7.5 miles. It took me about an hour twenty, which averages to 10.6 minutes per mile. The 13k is only 0.6 miles longer than what I ran, so I can totally do this. :D My legs are a little tired but not too bad, and I took today off. I think maybe tomorrow I'll do 4.5, and then 3.5 either Thursday (probably) or Friday, and then Saturday night's the race! (Hm... perhaps this means I need to remember to go to bed at a reasonable hour on Friday.) Also, I need to finish my costume (tomorrow) for the Halloween Party. And speaking of Halloween, the short little thing I was writing for [info]pjo_fic_battle is going to be longer than I thought. And may only be peripherally connected to Halloween, but I'm trying. At least it should prove to be interesting... I just hope I have time to finish more than one prompt. XD And I also need to work on The Ties That Bind; I'm a little stuck as to what I want to put next, since I need to pass some time in-story, but I'll figure out something. The next time I have a chance to sit down and write... uh. Maybe Thursday? Not tonight, that's for sure.

[info]pergamond is back in town for the week; this afternoon we broke out Gakuensai no Oujisama and had ourselves some fun. XD It's so much more entertaining to make the story up as you go, which is pretty much what we have to do, given our horribly incomplete understanding of the Japanese language. We first attempted to join Hyoutei, but after being totally snubbed by Shishido for Ohtori (well, no surprise there...) we restarted at Seigaku, which seemed to go much better. Momo totally loved us, and it took a while to win Ryoma over but we were totally getting there! It was also our mission to annoy Tezuka as much as possible. I am happy to report we were totally succeeding. XD Also, Fuji tried to feed us jalepeno sandwiches. Thankfully I think we ran away with Ryoma. (I'm not sure, but at least we survived, either way?)

Also, at work today I totally got IDL to do fancy things with errors and chi-squared and I think I may actually have gotten something approaching reasonable results for my IR power-law galaxies. ::squee:: I mean, I've got some overlap with optical variables and X-ray point sources - that totally means I'm doing it right, right? XD; Hopefully tomorrow I can finish that up and then I can get ACIS-Extract up and running and get those darn X-ray fluxes so I can move on with my life, eesh. And speaking of moving on, I finally got the paperwork signed on my Rio reimbursement. Here's hoping it goes through quickly. I could really used the nearly $2k they owe me! Because Delia's has the cutest star t-shirt and some kickass hoodies.

And finally. I went to Wal-Mart this evening and procured myself a copy of Revenge of the Fallen, because I had a gift card for almost exactly the right amount (I love how movies are only $20 the day they come out, even the fancy 2-disc special edition I snagged). Cue Transformers babble below. )

[info]valeriebean, I know I owe you a phone call. I was out 'till late yesterday (I made the mistake of reiterating that I hadn't seen The Dark Knight after Heroes and so it was immediately and impulsively watched) and I should head to bed within the hour, but I should have time tomorrow since there is no NGN! Also, I don't know if you'll even see this, but [info]link621, I've been thinking of you all day. <3

Kenai & Koda - Brothers (light)
Woo, apparently I had $25 in change sitting around my house and the office. I finally got myself to bring it into the grocery store and toss it into the Coinstar machine and then I went on a mini-Amazon shopping spree~ I may or may not have bought Brother Bear 1 and 2 on DVD. XD; Well, okay, I did. But they were just SO CUTE.

Also, after two tries, I have finally gotten ahold of the person in the Astronomy office responsible for travel reimbursement and she says she'll work on mine tomorrow. This is good, because my checking account is the lowest it's ever been and it might be due to the, oh, $1500 they owe me from Rio. >>; Thankfully I will have that soon. Or, at least, sooner than I would have if I hadn't bugged her, I'm sure. Next up is registering for the AAS, but at least I don't have to pay for that one.

Aaaand now I am off! To clean or write. Perhaps clean then write. Or maybe just write. XD; Even if I think I'm going to scrap the scene I had with Annabeth and throw Thalia in there instead... uh. Someone really needs to explain to me why I don't like Annabeth overly much, because really I should. :x So why don't I? ;_; (I suppose that if I'm sad I don't, that's at least a sign that there is some hope?) Actually, she's really great for fics, because she's the smart one. She gets to figure everything out! Except for this one. No one will see this coming. >D
Minutemen - Zeke <3
So apparently there were at least 2600 people at the Astronomy Starry Night thing tonight, wow. I think we've never before topped 800; I guess if you bring in an astronaut and give away telescopes to the first 80 takers, that's a big draw. Or maybe people just really like astronomy? XD; It is the International Year of Astronomy, after all~ I was there from about 4 until 9:30, mainly helping out with the Galileoscope workshop. I was signed up for two but I helped out with three, and it was pretty fun although we were running really late because the slide show took people through things slower than was really necessary. Everyone I helped was done way early because they just wanted to move on so I tried to explain the telescope to them as I helped them put it together. And I think I get to keep the one PC and I did for training, which is fancy~ I think I might get my dad one for his birthday, too. Anyway, since I got home so late that meant I had to tape Phineas & Ferb and Alien Force, so I of course watched them (woo!) and now here I am. (For the record, sometimes I think Ben thinks at the speed of plot. And the speed of plot? Is not fast. XD;)

Totally randomly, I actually got to watch Minutemen all the way through yesterday, which is actually the first time I've seen the whole thing. I'd seen the middle-beginning and most of the end on two separate occassions, but never the very beginning or the actual middle. It was actually a whole heckuva lot more enjoyable when seen beginning to end (ahaha, go figure, right? XD) and OMG ZEKE IS ADORABLE. I WANT ONE. <3 Of course this made me realize that instead of finding small things cute, I might actually find tall things cute. This is probably bad. XD; But he iiiiiiis~

Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I want to do anything constructive (like write) or if I should just plop down with Ever and finish it, because I probably could, given two hours. (It's okay; nothing like what I was expecting but still not too bad overall, and a really quick read.) I do have about a third of a (haha) third entry for [info]pjo_fic_battle that I could work on, but maybe that will get done tomorrow. And after that I really should stop. Because three entries is enough. XD; ::dies:: And I need to work on the epic PJO fic; I think the next part will be ready to go pretty soon. This weekend the plans are to MOPEX like crazy and also write and clean, so hopefully all of that should be achievable. I can hope, at least, right? I also need to run back to the grocery store because, ahaha, I forgot bread and pickles and making sandwiches on Monday will be difficult without at least one and boring without the other.

Okay, I'll get going and spare you further babble~

Wesley - Ladies~
I just received the best review ever: "Nico wouldn't just go all New Jersey on some chick." XD Oh man~ That is an awesome assessment. <3 No, seriously, I was so entertained, hee~ IF ONLY THEY KNEW. >D

Just got back from G.I. Joe, which was entertaining, as expected. I also (finally) got to see the first episode of Merlin season 2, which was Merliny and awesome as usual~

Work was a bit of a bust today, as I woke up late, but I got some stuff organized at least and tomorrow it's back to MOPEXing it up. There's also this big outreach event on Friday that I'm helping out with, so I suppose I'd better take a look at those Galileoscope instructions again if I'm going to be helping the general public build them, woo. I'm hoping I can get done in time to see the astronaut talk!

That's... really it for now. :D;

Violet - inventor girl
You know, when I was little I always wanted my mom to tell me bedtime stories. Except whenever she'd start, I'd always tell her, "I want it to be about this person and make sure you include a waterfall, and I want them to go here and do this and these things," and she'd always tell me, exasperatedly, to just make the thing up myself if I knew exactly what I wanted to happen.

I notice that still happens to me, sometimes - particularly when there's something like the new PJO fic battle up and there are all these awesome prompts and I can totally tell you what I want to happen in at least six of them. Which invariably means I'm probably going to end up writing six of them, except I want them to be done instead of having to do the work myself. Ahaha, I'm pretty hopeless, aren't I? XD I really should also pick new characters to write about, or at least different situations. There is actually a Percy/Nico/Annabeth prompt up that I'm going to give a go... The problem is, I can see Percy and Annabeth, and I can see Percy and Nico. I have no freaking clue what would get Nico and Annabeth together, short of their mutual love for Percy, which... is where the thing I'm writing is headed, but I'm not sure that's where I want it to go. Hrm. :x

Actually, I spent a lot of the day writing; I got a whole BeVin fic out for the current challenge at [info]ben10_x_kevin11 and I worked on hashing out two chapters ahead of where I am in "The Ties That Bind" because I want to show, not tell, but if I do that then it will be a bajillion million chapters long and sometimes you really just have to condense a few days of story!time into a few paragraphs and I just need to figure out the best way to do that. XD Also, I came up with this great reason that explains something important as I was falling asleep last night, and of course now I can't remember it. Fail~

Also, I had this really involved dream last night where I was supposed to be at Dragon*Con with a bunch of people (I think [info]meandering and [info]noctaval were supposed to be staying in my room), except the Jonas Brothers lived across the street and I sure did hang out a lot with Kevin. I do not recall minding in the least~ <3

Anyway, I actually should probably get to bed, since I'm driving down to St. Pete tomorrow to hang out with [info]adamatari before I pretend I'm not too old to fangirl over Mitchel Musso in concert~

Phineas & Ferb - blueprints for awesome!
Today was the annual Reitz Union Meeting during which all the grad students give short talks on their research. (Except Scott. Scott has never been here for a meeting. XD;) Anyway, I was afraid mine would run long but I think I finished right on time; also, most of the faculty had disappeared by that point so there were no hard questions, whee~ Of course, this just underscores the amount of work I have left to do if I aim to graduate next year. Eek. Next week is going to be made of IR analysis. I am actually (possibly in vain) hoping to get most of that done by Friday. We shall see.

Anyway, I came home, dropped by Scott's to feed the cat, went running, and promptly got distracted by TV for most of the evening. XD; Hey, it's not my fault I have seen none of the second season of Suite Life On Deck, or that they seemed to be showing all of it in a row. (Ahahaha, hello puberty. I see you visited a certain pair of twins between last season and now. XD) Plus, there was new Ben 10, and then there was much Phineas and Ferb. With all of that TV goodness, how can you go wrong?

Also, ahaha? A chapter a week, yeah right. I have a feeling that I can get chapter 2 of PJO epic fic number three out before I go to bed tonight. XD; Boy, I sure fail (by, uh, not failing? Or something). I also think I have the plot for the Sam/Bee sequel thing. So now I just have to get around to writing it. Also, I'm almost done reading The Revenge of the Fallen. I was vaguely disturbed that they actually spell out Mudflap's lisp, but at the same time I guess it makes sense. Although now I actually have to work at figuring out what he's saying. XD; At least Skids is entertaining. Fo' shizzle, bro.

Also? Yessss~ Now please give us a date thank you?

Code Geass - computer
Huh. This is really interesting - self-publishing hooking up with Barnes & Noble? I've always kind of envisioned myself going down the traditional path to publishing, but maybe it's time to reconsider that assessment. (Of course, I'd have to actually finish something decently long and original, first. XD; That's what NaNo is for, right?)

Also, I had this dream last night that I was going to visit [info]link621 in Japan... which doesn't quite make sense. XD; I think I also visited [info]februaryfour in said dream, which makes a good deal more sense. There was also something about astronomy and crew in there. Wow - two things that should never be mixed. One brand of crazy is enough!

I think that's about it for now; back to working on my talk, which I have to give tomorrow. D: (Well, it's mostly done really, I just want to make sure it flows and that there aren't too many words, which tends to happen and then I read slides and that's just no good.) I would complain about having to be on campus by 9am, but... yeah. I think I have no grounds. ^^;
Hellboy - let's have a beer
So! It has been a wholly unproductive weekend, but so goes the weekend after Dragon*Con, I suppose. XD; Well, I guess it hasn't been wholly unproductive: I made some new icons and prowled some icon comms and swapped around a bunch (ahhh, now I have a bunch of Transformers and some Hellboy ones, and I really need to make room for another Zak Saturday one...). I also came up with a title for my PJO fic, yay! I hope it sticks, but I think it will work~ So that means once I get off my butt and stop writing Transformers fic I can get to work and begin posting that one before all my readers forget I exist. I really want to actually post it up in one of the LJ comms, but then I'd kind of have to link to the other two, and... hm. I feel a little weird being all, "Look I have a new fic, but you have to read my two horribly long other ones first!", but then the first chapter of the third one might be enough recap that people won't have to read the other two...

Anyhow. XD; This is all rather moot at the moment, as I today I only wrote seven pages of the most embarrassing Transformers fic ever, all (somewhat) courtesy of [info]perfectassassin and [info]bucket_shot. (I'm sure this is also somewhat [info]noctaval's fault; how could it not be? ;D) I've apparently melded one of my other fic ideas in with it as well. ::dies:: But now I have to end it, which is the hard part, because I don't actually feel like writing the ending. Uh. XD; Well, I'll leave that for tomorrow, if I have any time after impromptu Enterprise-watching with Nathan, since Scott is still out of town and there's one more week 'till Heroes.

Also going against the unproductive flow that I claimed above, I got my ticket to Mitchel Musso~ The only show I can go to is next weekend, which is apparently also AWA, so I'm on my own for the concert but that's okay. I should give his whole album another listen-through so I can remember the songs other than the five I keep listening to.

... And my neighbors have chosen now to begin rumbling around and dropping things and playing music upstairs. I suppose I will be reading my book in my bedroom before I go to sleep, tonight.

Also, haircut on Tuesday, I can't forget that. XD; Stupid hair is too long and boring again. D: Alas, there's very little one can do to make my hair interesting. The least I can hope for is more manageable. :D;;

EDIT: OMG, guys. DO WANT. XD Tell me that shirt is not fabulous and I'll just call you a liar anyway. ::diiiiies:: Bee~ XD

Woo, Star Trek uniform is mostly done! )

Also costuming-related, I Model Magic'd the triangles on Ahsoka's headtails (I should take pictures) and velcro'd up the bootcovers, and put the second coat of paint on the buckles. OMG, this costume may actually get done on time. o.o; Also, toaster and gun for Lewis' hat, GET! (Ahaha, I so had to exert massive willpower at Toys R Us because THEY HAVE SECRET SATURDAYS TOYS. Waaaaaaaaaant~ I don't care if I accidentally spoiled myself for the ending of that show, it sounds so cool and I really need to find the end of it so I can see it.

Still lots to do, but it's actually getting done! Though I think I'm going to spend the last bit of time I have before bed working on PJO stuff. Still plenty left to copy out of the notebook from Rio! I really should be working on Ben 10 stuff, but I'm holding out for an extension on that. Otherwise I'll do it this weekend. Really!

So! I suppose an update is maybe in order. XD The wedding was nice~ Warm, but such is the nature of August weddings in Boston. The church was lovely (as were the bride and groom~ <3) and the reception was made of awesome and win and glowsticks towards the end of the night, which was the coolest thing ever. Plus I met the awesome [info]minkrose (who was nice enough to let me tag along with her and significant other for most of the time) and [info]gnine, yay more cool friends. :D

Sunday was filled with fangirling with [info]skuldchan and [info]asphodel, who even fed us and took us to this extremely yummy Taiwanese restaurant <3. There was much discussion of not only Harry Potter (ahaha, I hope we didn't bore Yang to death with Alby and Scorp XD) and Dynasty Warriors, but we came up with the awesomest idea for a video game EVER. I mean, come on. You all know you'd want to play American Civil Warriors. Who doesn't want to slash Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant? XDD (Oh man, it was the funniest conversation ever. I miss fangirling in person.) Somebody needs to send me her iPhone voice messages of win. ;D

Then today I slept in late (oops) but I did at least get a somewhat decent amount of cosplay work done: I pretty much finished Anakin and at least got the sleeves of the Star Trek uniform attached, which wasn't too hard but took a bit of work because it had to be done in so many steps. I think I really need the serger to do the sides of that, though, since the fabric frays like crazy, so I will do that tomorrow. And I will do Ahsoka's bootcovers and finish model-magic-ing the headtails tomorrow when I get home. REALLY. Ack. I need more time before Dragon*Con. ;_; I just hope everything I ordered will arrive in time and work, eek.

I did also get a little bit of work done today on my as-yet-unnamed PJO fic (and holy crap I did a lot of writing in Rio - or, at least, there are a lot of notebook pages to transcribe). The lack of a title is really starting to bug me. I have NO IDEA what to call this one. There are a million songs that I could associate with it, but none have good lyrics that I can use for a title. Argh. I wish I didn't fail at titling things. Or that the only thing I have actually written and posted in the past week has been my totally random Sam/Mikaela/Bee thing. ::dies:: And now I have a Ben 10 fic exchange thing to get working on, too. At least the deadline for that should be after D*C, and I'm not even going to think about starting to post the PJO fic until after then, too.

Other things I need to do in the near future include:

- Get tickets to Mitchel Musso
- Call Stacie
- Get oil changed
- Write up that horribly awkward awesome Alby/Hawk conversation for [info]ass_tea

Okay, off to be lazy some more before making myself go to bed before 4am because I think I have to get up at 8 or 9 or something to get to the airport in time to catch my flight. I should probably check that.
Scrubs: JD & Elliot - ahoy!
Yes, it's me again. Look, I'm updating when I really should be writing. XD

This turned into PJO!fic!babble, so I figured I'd cut it because no one wants to read that. XD )

Anyway; I'm tired and I should probably go to bed for obvious reasons, but I don't actually want to, just yet. I will be in bed within the hour, though. I swear. I just hope I'll be able to fall asleep. :x At least tomorrow is like Friday, since actual Friday I'm only working in the morning. Then it's Orlando time, to sell my car (yay!) and AFO it up~ I GET TO SEE DIANA OMG. :D :D :D Now if only I knew which costumes to bring, aside from Gwen... (Maybe I'll dig out Tenma! I love Tenma~ OMG I could be Annabeth ahahahaha. Where's my Yankees cap? I'll just say I stole Percy's shirt.)

So! Yesterday was slightly more productive than the day before; I woke up at 1 or 2 or something (which is better than 3:30, trust me!) and hit up Goodwill for boots, though no luck there. But I think I might have found some black ones on a website for cheap - it looks like the Trek!Reboot! boots are only mid-calf, and not knee high? It's hard to tell; there are no full pictures of Uhura that I can find. :x Which is rather annoying. I suppose I could look at my Burger King glass? XD Still no idea what to do about Ahsoka's boots, but at least I have a while to figure that out, yet.

Anyway, during the three hours of Jonas on Disney Channel (XD) I finished the tabard-thing on the front of Ahsoka's skirt (I don't even know if that's really the right word for it...) and cut out pieces for my Trek uniform, though ironing them has proven difficult and I may just hang the thing in the bathroom while I shower for the next week. (Heck, I could probably just hang it outside - it's humid enough out there. D:)

I also finally saw both The DaVinci Code and V for Vendetta this weekend, as Scott owns them and I had never seen them so I borrowed them. Both were very good, though the ending of DaVinci Code I could see a mile away and I wasn't quite thrilled with, and the middle of V for Vendetta didn't quite... make sense to me (not in an "I don't know what's going on" sort of way, but more of an "I think they didn't need to do that in that manner" sort of way). And then yesterday night I realized that hey, I do own Iron Man (you'd think I'd know this XD) so I watched the first half of that~ Second half tonight. :D (Only because I ate dinner at 9:40 last night so I didn't want to watch the whole two-hour movie in one go.) There's still no chance Tony Stark graduated with honors from MIT, though. ;)

Then I finished my gigantic PJO fic #2 (seriously, 65,000 words? I NEED HELP) and started planning out the next one. XD ::dies:: I already have this whole big crazy conversation for it written on pages torn out of a notebook next to my bed, but it takes place halfway through the fic so it doesn't do me much good at the moment, now does it? XD I actually have most of the fic already planned out (gasp!) except for one plot point, but I suppose that will come as it's needed, as they tend to do. Unless anyone cares to be a sounding board~? I'm also trying to decide if it's worth actually putting this up in the new PJO comm or not, but then I'd have to tell everyone to go back and read my other two fics, and that's a rather major undertaking. XD; So I dunno about that.

Anyway. Enough dawdling - I need to get to the post office and then hopefully get something useful done by six o'clock. Apparently I'm alone this week in Extragalactic-ph - better get that paper read!
Perry the Platypus!
So! it has been a long, slightly-eventful week, whereby "slighty-eventful" I really mean "work-filled". I have a rough draft of my poster that I'm working on (which I am sure I will eventually be sending to [info]valeriebean so she can tell me it sucks and has too many words, because where would I be without her to tell me that? XD <3) I've also discovered that two epochs is really crappy for figuring out variability (well, we knew this) and that I have no clue how to get X-ray luminosity from X-ray flux, provided I can even figure out the right task in CIAO to give me the proper X-ray flux. Buh. I know it involves a power-law... seriously, people. Why is there no online tutorial? (Well, probably because that would be ridiculous, but still...)

... Hm. And maybe I'm not as smart as I thought I was. Every time I open a new terminal, it tells me I have an undefined variable in my IDL_PATH. Oops. :x

[/astrobabble]

On the upside, I found fabric for my Star Trek uniform! I hit up the Jo-Anns that I don't usually go to yesterday, and there, right as I walked in the door, was the best fabric I've found so far so I decided to go for it. Plus it's their crazy coupon week so I had a billion coupons I could use. XD Anyway, that excited me greatly, as I was sure I'd never find anything even remotely close. It's not perfect, but it does have a slightly-raised diamond pattern on it that I think will work from far away. And now I shall proceed to share pictures for no good reason:

With a flash, so you can see the texture.

Without, so you can see the color.

In other news (as though it were actually important or something XD), I randomly go nominated for a number of Gen categories in [info]excalibur_award, which is really kind of exciting! (Well, to me, anyway. :D;) Especially when one considers it's for a short little fic about Gwen and Arthur in episode 13. Eee, I feel all fuzzy. :D (Not warm, though. It's too cold in here for that. Thankfully I have a hoodie.)

I also finished From the Earth to the Moon last night, which as a whole was absolutely fabulous and everyone should watch it. And then Deke Slayton showed up in my dream, gee, I wonder why. XD Except I think my brain thought he had diabetes instead of a heart murmur, because in my dream some doctor was testing his blood and apparently had been every day and that was the reason he couldn't go into space? XD Who knows. At least Joe Jonas didn't show up. Although, Joe Jonas in a snoopy cap...

And finally: [info]link621, I just got an email telling me to adopt kittens from the Humane Society of Boulder. (This actually isn't a new occurrence... long story, it's all your fault. <3) But then I started clicking and I think you should adopt him. LOOK HOW CUTE HE IS. :O You could name him... I don't know. Sanada or something. :D;

A momentous occasion - no, really.

Ryoma - no mouth XD
I just ran out of room on my iPod. Man, I thought this day would never come. :O

Ah well; conveniently I have tons of TeniPuri and other anime-related karaoke tracks on there I can delete. :D;;

Meanwhile, I should not be writing Chamber of Snogs flashback stuff when I need to be writing Percy Jackson stuff. XD And yet here I am, doing just that. ::fail:: And I just bought my ticket for Boston, and realized that I'm leaving at 10:21am on the 19th out of Orlando... when I am going to the Jonas Brothers concert at 7pm on the 18th in Tampa. Wow. XD [info]skuldchan, when all I can talk about the first day you see me is Kevin Jonas, you will know why. I apologize in advance. But I really need to save that $40 for Dragon*Con.
