Ben 10 - oh yeah
ASdfjIOFJADUFIHAOFUAWR90w YES, PLZ. I NEED MORE. But I suppose I can live with a release date. That's better than nothing, right? dfjasjfjfdo trailer trailer trailer trailer trailer~

I want to go home and EAT but my mosaic is still interpolating and my Post-BCD data is still queued for staging. (In English: computers are slow and they need to hurry up!) Plus I might try to go running tonight; it's not like I have to be anywhere until 11pm. XD And I got rained on yesterday so I didn't do quite the full five miles. Hopefully I will not get rained on today. (BTW, Florida, please have nice weather tomorrow. The space shuttle needs to launch! This is what, their fifth try? D:)

Also, uh. This looked neat, so let's give this a try?

HP - Dude
Firstly, a very happy birthday to [info]lavenderlilly! :D

I kept having dreams about astronauts last night. XD All I can really remember every time I woke up was all the radio chitchat and guys wearing spacesuits on the moon and I think this is entirely due to a certain HBO miniseries that I'm over halfway through with by now. (Aw, but last night was Apollo 11 and 12! All I could think was, "Man, Apollo 12 was a party! Al Bean is adorable!") Eesh, I remember learning all this stuff from books in junior high, but this is so much better than books. Sometimes I think I must be living my life backwards, fangirling astronauts in junior high and the Jonas Brothers in grad school...

Costume-wise, Gwen is almost done! Hoping to finish her tonight so I can start working on Ahsoka in earnest (Wonderflex ordered, $50 later...), and I still need to find fabric for the Trek!Reboot uniform. Plus I need to see if I really will be able to convince people to do Venture Bros cosplay or if this will just be a bust, because I can't walk around by myself as Dean Venture. That will not work. XD (Maybe I could be Triana? With a Dean plushie? XD) And someone needs to tell me that making Penny for AFO is probably a bad idea... even though I think I might do it. >>; NTS: take a look at her stuff tonight to see if this is even possible.

Okay, back to alternately watching MOPEX chug along and trying to get these flux maps made. Cutting the images down to just the area viewed by the ACS makes it much faster!
Ryoma - grin~
Brazil tourist visa, get! :D (Which is why I got to work at 11:15 - stupid downtown, being under construction and making me go the long way around to the already weirdly inconvenient post office. D:) But yep, there it was, taking up a whole page of my passport. Whew, one more thing to check off the list! (And to find the receipt for. I want reimbursement!)

Anyway, I think today is going to be a work until 6 o'clock day, but that's not unreasonable since I got in late (due to aforementioned picking up of passports at the post office). At least since it's summer, I can totally stay 'till six and have no problem with daylight for running afterwards. But! My advisor got an email from someone whose papers I have totally been using, so that's kind of exciting. Now I get to fangirl him in a totally non-fangirly way and tell him just how useful and awesome his work is!

Sooo I was browsing Amazon yesterday, and I realized that From the Earth to the Moon is $12. That's right - twelve dollars. For the whole thing - twelve or thirteen or whatever one-hour episodes of astronaut-y goodness~ So I might have bought that. I might also have bought the first season of Venture Bros because I needed to add something else to get the free shipping. I should perhaps not have bought these things, but this documentary is really quite amazing (and TWELVE DOLLARS!) and, well. Venture Bros. (They had the yard sale one on last night. XD I love the yard sale one~) This weekend I'm eBaying for Ahsoka's boots, and I have to order that Wonderflex for her headtails (why must it be expensive? D:) I'm going to check Center Stage for the makeup before I go about ordering and paying to ship it, though. I really wonder if I can't get this done for an AFO test run... That might be nice!

Also, Up? Was fantastic. I realize everyone knows this already, but. XD; Figured I'd add my two cents' worth of redundancy on that one~

Anyway, I... think that's all I have to report. This weekend will be made of writing PJO epic-ness, hopefully writing some original stuff to make some monies, and even more hopefully finishing the clothing aspects of Gwen and Ahsoka. We shall see~

Oh, but also? I discovered that they moved The Secret Saturdays to... well, Saturday. Secretly. Gee, Cartoon Network, thanks for NOT TELLING ME. D: Now I'm two or three episodes behind, and there are no torrents. Grar. This isn't a show in which I can miss episodes! Each one pretty much follows the last, by this point.

Okay, time to tape Exia to the plug again. I really need to look into fixing this. XD

EDIT: I just saw the headline "Canadian tornado kills 2 Oklahomans" on weather.com. Wait... what? XD; Well, okay, people dying sucks. But still.
Rusty Venture - Oh yeah lookit me
In what is quite possibly the worst idea of the century, I have had to resort to taping Exia's AC adaptor to the extension cord into which I am plugging it. ::dies:: I think it's time to look into getting a new adaptor... I hope they're not too expensive. I mean, I still have the second three-pronged one, but the little one is so much more transportable...

But anyway~ I continue with my X-ray flux map-making, as I have finally figured it out but in order to make the images the size I want, it takes forever. (I was binning them before and that was just no good; I need the resolution of unbinned images.) BUT I have also just downloaded and installed MOPEX, which claims it will help me reduce Spitzer data. I hope this is not a lie. XD We shall see~ I have a tutuorial and sample data, so we'll give that a go while I finish downloading and organizing the real data. Here's hoping!

Writing-wise, I got a good chunk of the setup for the giant battle in my PJO fic done, but there's still a bit more to go. Now that I think I know how I'm going to end it, I'm worried I may be dragging it out by trying to get another giant fic out of it, but, uh. Trilogies are good, right? :D; (I just hope I can get everyone out of this alive. I hate killing people.) In the meantime, one of the prompts over at the fic battle has inspired me again and I'm probably going to write a really horribly wrong fic later. (It's not that I don't love Nico and Bianca, but... I don't really ship them. And yet I can totally see how this fic is going to work.) In other news, I need more PJO icons. XD And I'm working on an FST. People need to read these books. ;_;

Aaaaand I should probably be eating lunch. Extragalactic-ph in an hour. :O

Scrubs: JD & Elliot - ahoy!
So I was all set to go to bed yesterday at a reasonable hour (2am is totally reasonable) but then I got suddenly inspired for the scene I was working on in my PJO fic and then it was 3:30. Oops. D: (This is what happens when you get Percy and Nico alone on the bottom of a river, I suppose... XD;) Ah well; it was actually okay since I'd been going to bed at 4 or so ever since Friday, and then since I managed to drag myself up reasonably on time this morning, I will hopefully be tired tonight. We'll see. I still wish it didn't take so absolutely little to throw off my sleep schedule. Anyway, I think I actually know (for real) how this story is going to end, and it still leaves room for a third (this is perhaps not a good thing, but XD). And it looks like the current thing at [info]pjo_fic_battle is going to continue through the end of the month, so I will attempt to pick up more prompts there, as well. Oh, and there was a new Merlin prompt community I wanted to take a look at...

Speaking of, I was totally excited - one of my short little Gwen fics I wrote for the Gwen Winter Battle thing got nominated at [info]excalibur_award! :D Whee~ Well, I mean, voting hasn't even started yet, but I was excited nonetheless. :D;

Anyway, I cut out the fabric for Gwen's under-dress (while watching Merlin, thank you NBC XD). I think I got fabric that was a little too off-white for it, but the white was just so see-through and I didn't want to double it. So, uh. Too bad. No one will care, I'm sure. I plan to at least cut out Ahsoka today. I also hope that the headpiece I'm using as a base will arrive in the mail today, otherwise I'll probably just call and pick it up at the UPS place tomorrow, even if it is alllll the way across town. :x

Anyway, other than that, it's just trying to finish up those exposure maps today so I can actually start some Spitzer analysis before Vicki talks to me next. Woo, mosaicking, here I come!

...Ahaha. If you pick the ninja theme in Gmail, there are little shuriken instead of stars! That is fantastic. XD

HAWAII OWNS YOUR FACES

O'Brien - coffee
You know, I think the more mortal peril Percy is in, the funnier he is. XD Just saying. I'm, like, terrified to keep turning pages, but every time I do I just keep cracking up out loud. XD Well, I mean, it's sad too, because people are dying. But Percy is still pretty hilarious. I also heard the Lightning Thief trailer might be showing before the Half-Blood Prince? That would be made of WIN. :DDD Though then I read that they might be scrapping one of my favorite scenes... I hope not, that would make me sad!

Brazil visa mailed, yay. $160 later, ugh. D: (Plus the $7 for the passport photos in which I look rather tired and unhappy because you are not allowed to smile.) Man, I wish I could get reimbursed before the conference. I didn't get my title transferred yet, but in my defense that's because I didn't fall asleep until at least 5:30 this morning. That was sad. I kept watching Adult Swim hoping Venture Bros would be on, but alas, no. Maybe it's only on on the weekends. In any case, I was tired but just couldn't sleep, so naturally I was not willing to get up at 7 this morning and opted for 9:40 instead. I'll aim for title-transferring tomorrow.

In the meantime, today is X-ray flux map day. :D And no NGN, so there will be running and writing and possibly Ahsoka-starting. I need to get working on costumes! I also need to go fabric-shopping, but I feel poor after dumping $1400 into Brazil that I won't get back until probably after D*C. Ah well.
Peter/Jane - Need Help?
I woke up a bit late this morning (well, let me rephrase: I woke up at 6:45 because there was Very Loud Thunder, and made the mistake of going back to sleep and assuming I'd wake up when the alarm went off at 8:30). But it was okay, because it was storming outside pretty much the whole morning so I decided getting some work done from home was the way to go. Plus, I had a couple of things to take care of - I need to get the title of the new car transferred, but when I went to the tax collector's it was really crowded so I decided I'd just come back at 8 tomorrow (incentive to get up early!). At least I got my passport photo taken at CVS, since I need to send one in with my travel visa. The goal is to get that out tomorrow! (Along with the notification about the AAS grant, I forgot to do that today, oops.)

Really, though, I need to figure out what's going on. Every other day or so it's just impossible for me to get up. I assumed it was connected with running, but I really don't think that extra quarter mile translates into two more hours of sleep required. XD Maybe I just need to change alarm clocks. The Stitch one seems to work fairly well.

In the meantime, Zazzle is offering free shipping and I really want a Camp Half-Blood shirt, but I don't know which house to put on the back. XD I was thinking either Poseidon or Hades, but I could always just get the one without a house name on the back. I don't really identify with any of the greek gods. D: Not even really Athena. ::fail:: Ah well, I've been trying to make this decision forever; even if I don't decide by tonight, I should actually get a shirt one of these days. They're cool!

Um... really, that's about it. Back to looking at Spitzer stuff, and then I'm going to try to get that PJO fic battle thing started. I... think I know what's going to happen. Maybe. >>; Plus I owe people drabbles, and I just did a meme that means I ought to post up that I will do more drabbles. XD Aha~

Phineas & Ferb - blueprints for awesome!
There are not enough hours in the day. D:

Much rambling on the writing of fics that I shall cut for flist sanity purposes~ )

akdjlafd, where did the day go? No wonder I'm tired. D: I had issues falling asleep last night (probably prompted by getting up late yesterday.) I really had better try to get to bed soon, though.

Other things I need to do include actually starting my slew of Dragon*Con costumes (Ahsoka! NTS: Try out Model Magic for the outer part of the headtails? And look into makeup!). I also need to finish cleaning my house (it's half-clean? :D;) and finish getting ready for the teacher workshop on Monday that I'm kind of running-ish. (Well, Vicki and Anthony are usually in charge but they're both out of town, and while it really doesn't require much organization, I think I'm it.) At least I've got most of the stuff for it done today, though. I plopped myself down in the student center with a venti iced green tea and my laptop for about two hours and got the links list and talk done.

I also need to get my Brazil ticket so I can apply for my travel visa. I think I'm going to have to take an overnight flight, whee. -_-; I hope the AAS is okay with me flying out of Orlando rather than Gainesville, though I suppose I should probably look into the latter even if I hate taking small planes. :x I don't think I'm really going to stay more than a day or two at most after the conference, though; I think I'd be paying out of pocket for that, and I honestly don't really know of a whole lot I want to do in Rio. If anyone knows of anything I should do while I'm there, though...?

Aaand maybe if I hadn't been writing this, I could've gotten more fic written. Alas. I think it's almost bedtime.
Kirk - bloody nose :D
Well, I am getting closer to creating an X-ray exposure map. I'm not there yet - somehow I stalled out on the last step because I'm still missing keywords in my input files, but the awesome girl at the Chandra helpdesk who is so nicely walking me through this is out of the office today, so I guess it's back to inputting redshifts for today. And I thought being an astronomer didn't require secretarial levels of data entry; good thing I spent so much time working for my dad way back when (who, incidentally, is totally paying my sister a better hourly rate this summer than I get doing this, lucky girl~).

I actually worked on my PJO story yesterday (woo!) and I even finished reading my geekiest book of all the geeky books ever so I can now finish The Demigod Files and probably actually start reading The Last Olympian this weekend. I think I keep putting it off because I don't want the series to be over. I have this problem with many things. It's why I still haven't finished Enterprise. D:

I also wrote almost 1,000 words for my Star Wars fic, but the thing seems to be in a constant state of flux. I keep flipping between wanting to make it just AU (as in, take everything up to mid-Clone Wars as canon and then veer off in my own direction) and trying to make things fit up through Revenge of the Sith. I still don't know what I want to do with it. I have all these ideas. There are too many of them! XD Ah, Star Wars. Why must you be difficult?

Speaking of, I think I'm going to treat myself to a trip to the bookstore tonight, because my $50 Borders rewards card came in so I can buy a book without actually paying for it! And there's a new Clone Wars book out by Karen Traviss, and it involves Ahsoka (actually, all the Rex/Ahsoka shippers will probably be happy with this one, reading the description...). Therefore I totally must own it. (Though clearly she needs to stop writing Clone Wars and get cracking on that next Omega Squad book! I NEED THAT THING. :O)

Merlin starts this weekend on NBC. Everyone should watch it~ :D

I think maybe it's time for an early lunch.

Oh, but first! Have a picture from Star Wars Weekends. To tide you over~ :D; )
Ryoma - BW
[info]pergamond is evil because SHE KILLED RYOMA. D: I am seriously saddened, here. Seriously!

In other news, I think I finally know how to get X-ray fluxes, thanks to the Helpdesk. I must say, I really appreciate the people at the Chandra Helpdesk being so willing to explain things to me, because I think I am X-ray-regime-retarded or something. D: Ah well, that's for tomorrow morning - gotta head out to make it to dinner at five! Star Trek movies await!

Ahsoka
Welcome to Monday! (Or something. D:)

My busy but awesomely fun weekend~ )

I headed out around maybe two or three on Sunday, and called a bunch of people on the way home (except [info]valeriebean, I still owe you a call sometime this week because I haven't talked to you in forever!) and then spent the rest of the evening doing nothing very constructive, which included watching some Secret Saturdays, reading Star Wars fanfic, and generally trying to catch up on LJ and stuff. I'm still a bit behind in RP, but I'm really hoping to get back on the ball by mid-week with that. Thankfully I will actually be around until August, which then involves AFO, the Demi Lovato concert (yay, I'm going!), Brazil, and then the Jonas Brothers concert. (Speaking of, I totally had another Jonas Brothers dream last night. THEY ARE STALKING ME. D: Or maybe I'm stalking them. I'm not sure.)

I also need to catch up on writing, because I need to get another PJO chapter out (ahaha, I still need to read the last book!), I know I still owe those drabbles to people from the meme I put up what feels like a million years ago, and I've also actually started my dark!Ahsoka fic (well, all of a page or two of it). The problem with Star Wars fic is that I feel like I want to get all the details right, which means I either have to rewatch or Wikipedia a bunch of stuff, including Revenge of the Sith. (I think a rewatching might be in order for that, but maybe I can just Wiki it first to get myself going.) In any case, I think I have the beginnings of a plot, so that's all I can ever ask for! Now to just figure out the murky parts of it...

Okay, off to read the paper I'm presenting on Wednesday and maybe even get some work done on identifying galaxies with redshifts. Redshifts, yay! (Gee, I wish I had my own...) Tonight is more NextGen and Wednesday is Star Trek movies! (And I still need to see UP before I completely forget it's out.)

Wow, how's that for afterpercussions?

  • Jun. 11th, 2009 at 10:39 AM
SG1 - Gated
Okay, brain. Seriously. Stop having dreams about Joe Jonas. )

And then Maintenance knocked on my door and it was 8:40 in the morning and I was tired. D: Somehow my dumb Jonas Brothers dreams always get interrupted. Coincidence? Perhaps not. XD I think I may need a Jonas Brothers icon. HELP. Well, have a Stargate one instead.

At least after the maintenance guys took a look at my re-plastered bathroom ceiling (it sprung a leak while I was gone, thanks upstairs neighbors) they said they'd come back in an hour (gee, thanks). It's probably a good thing I was so groggy, or I might've said something about how when the guy came in yesterday to re-plaster it he left plaster and gross wet ceiling pieces all over my bathroom and now I have to replace my toothbrush and wash the heck out of my towels and vacuum every horizontal surface and then some. And possibly sand down my shower curtain bar because there's plaster caked on it and I can't actually pull the shower curtain across. Boo. It's probably too much to hope that the guy painting it today might actually clean up after himself, too. Ugh, if he gets paint on things I really will talk to someone. Plaster I can vacuum up. Paint, not so much. Which is why I hung my towels in the bedroom. (And, funnily enough, Sashi was apparently not ready to get up today because even after I got out of bed she stayed there and went back to sleep instead of following me around like normal. XD Cute~)

... Yeah, that's really it for now. Been working on my Jedi costume (it will get done, bootcovers and all!) and went to NGN last night as well, which was fabulous and involved the most wrong jokes about Riker yet. I don't think I can even repeat them. XD I did miss about eight episodes while I was gone, but I'll just steal those on Monday after we finish out season 6 before marathoning the TNG movies Wednesday before Tiffany leaves. D: (I am going to miss her!)

And now that I have wasted all of the extra time that I had for getting in so early this morning writing an entry, I shall endeavour to get to work and finish reading this paper that I've been reading for... a couple weeks, now. XD

That's my sidearm you're lying on.

Come on, Florida - I'm going to spend the next two weeks in rain, can't you be sunny for me? D: Ah well, at least it was just wet and not raining by the time I left this morning.

Anyway, the main point of this entry was to wish a very Happy Birthday to [info]kashewmoo! :D

Now back to trying to remember what I did on Friday... so I can write it down and hopefully remember it next month. XD Can I have another week or two to prepare for this trip? Please?

Perry the Platypus!
It feels like days since I dropped my grandmother off at the airport, but that was only this morning. I got back here around 12:30, ate lunch, and headed in to work for a bit; I actually got stuff done, which is exciting! Distances down for at least a couple of the clusters! And then I got completely soaked on the way home from work in a freak thunderstorm. XD It was so weird - I mean, the sun was shining and it was pouring at the same time. At least it stopped raining soon after so I could go running! But my clothes are still water-laden and hanging in the bathroom. I can't wear my green sneakers tomorrow, I'll bet.

Anyway, I got out running and made it back in time to watch Suite Life on Deck and The Secret Saturdays (even though I missed last week's episode, but I taped it) and Phineas and Ferb~ Then I decided I should maybe try to tackle my friends list, and at least read over most of it if not actually get to comment on things. asjfaf I think I had to skip 400 or something. DD: Apologies for the few comments over the past week's entries, but I just couldn't read it all. I think I'm kind of caught up, at least? o.o; (I still have to go back through a couple of people's journals and some comms, though.) And at least I'll be around, online-speaking, until Wednesday. Though I really have to get a giant list of things to do for my trip and then get them done. I've got part of a list, but I imagine it's not nearly complete. I'm going to try and run most of my errands in the morning tomorrow, though, before we head off to St. Augustine in the afternoon.

So while perusing my flist, I learned that it appears that Rick Riordan might be doing a new series, based on Egyptian mythology this time? Hello, Percy Jackson meets Stargate. How could that possibly be bad? (XD Jeeeen. Why do people always listen to us when we plot things? THEY ARE SO LISTENING TO US. D:) Anyway, speaking of the first, The Last Olympian is sitting on the coffee table and it is taunting me. I have no time to read it. I should finish The Demigod Files first, anyway. Ahhhh. ;_; And the worst part is, it's hardcover so I shouldn't even bring it on my trip. (I'm actually thinking of bringing Magic's Pawn or something, to read if I get bored but at least it's small and light. ::fail::) Ah well, at least I'm inspired again for my fanfic, and I think the next chapter is almost done! Except Kronos is getting really freaking long-winded. Then again, it takes a lot of words to convince people to be evil, I guess. XD (Or just a... what was it called, the Turn Everything Evil-inator. Right. That would make it much easier. ;D) And speaking of the second, I totally watched all of season 1 of SG-1 with my grandmother (at her suggestion!) in four days. XD WOO. Except it ended on a horrible cliffhanger and now I have no more and she promised to mail me more, but not 'till I get back. Ahhhh~ At least she left me the season 1 DVDs so I can watch the bonus features and possibly make screencaps for icons.

And finally, in awesome news, they extended Star Wars weekends! I CAN GO! :D (Of course, I think I'll just have to re-wear Padme, as I don't have time to make anything new, but I'm kind of tempted to throw together a Jedi-ish outfit if I'm alive after my trip...) [info]noctaval, I can't convince you to drive up for it, could I? :D; I can only go to the last weekend, June 12-14 or something, so I've got to pick a day in there, probably actually over the weekend since I should, you know, start being an astronomer again at some point.

What I wouldn't give to be NOT BUSY for a while. D: Seriously.

This title was eaten by TIRED. D:

Ahsoka
Okay, so I am back! :D Well, I've been back since Sunday night, but busy hanging out with Jen (:D) so I haven't really had much time to myself yet. XD I'm not caught up on LJ or RP at all, but I'll try to do that tonight. Yesterday after I dropped Jen off at the airport I rushed back home and mailed off her phone (I made it into the post office just before it closed at 7) and then started some laundry and had some dinner before putting most of the stuff I'd brought with from IL away and setting up my coffee table. :D It'll be a bit weird not having that floor space in front of my couch anymore, but I can always move it easily if someone wants to sit there. Heroes is over for the season, anyway, so no more tons of people sprawling on my floor for a while. XD

Then Elizabeth called and ahaha, I hadn't checked my email but people were going to see Wolverine, so I hopped in the car and went to do that. It was actually pretty good; they didn't screw over canon too badly in any way that really bothered me, and the story was good as well! (Maybe more on it later, but that's all I have brainpower to say for now. XD) Then this morning I reserved a Disney hotel (but no tea, it's totally booked up this weekend like I thought it might be; ah well, we can do Downtown Disney instead) and I picked up my contacts at the UPS depot before heading in to work (it's break week so I could park on campus!).

A bit of Anime Boston-related cosplay babble here. )

AND I have The Last Olympian (I totally bought it yesterday at the Borders in the airport XD) but if I get to actually crack the thing open before I get back from Boston/Europe/etc., I'd be a bit surprised. D: But that's okay. The longer I put it off, the longer the series lasts! Right? :D;

Anyway, road trip pictures, etc. later (or you can just read Jen's account, it'll probably be way more interesting than mine!) and I'm going to try to get something useful that's work-related done today. Maybe. (At least I've got plenty done already, even if it's not work-related? I think astronomy might just not actually happen again until June.)

--

EDIT: Also, while I was picking up my package, the guy at UPS had the radio on and the announcer was like, "Hey, Star Trek opens this week! 10% of fans who are going to see it are going to dress up in costume! Watch out for Vulcans, everyone!" I was kind of amused. XDD Though I admit I'm totally wearing a Trek shirt. tomorrow. ;D

At least let me pretend it's IDL's fault!

Setsuna - Gundam... =_=
Eek, I am sooooo busy for the rest of forever. o.o Or, well, at least the near future. I mean, I've got to work on Nina pretty much every day until I leave for Illinois, plus I want to get those modifications done on Bad Girl and Lara as soon as they come in the mail so I can get those back out again. At least Videl will be minimal work. XD I did get Nina started today... I didn't get uber-far, but that was partly due to me deciding I needed to CLEAN THE SEWING ROOM before I did anything (I hope rearranging it did not confuse Sashi...) and then partly due to some other things. But I got the leotard cut out (after two tries oops) and I'm going to try to get the gloves at least cut out before I go to bed. That's a step in the right direction, right? :D; I need a zipper for the back of the leotard (I only have white and I want to use black), so I'm also going to try to amass a list before I head out to JoAnns. Because I have coupons! I also kind of want to bring Drew to Anime Boston now... >>;

And on top of that I reeeeeally want to get some writing done (I'm going to try tonight!) except that I want to write a million things at once. XD And I'm too tired to do any of it by the time I can sit down and actually write. ::fail:: And I also need to look into running out sometime this week and possibly getting a new microwave... it was fine when just the 3, 6, and 9 didn't work, but now the 4, 5, and 0 have also quit on me... it's getting hard to cook my food. XD I was going to try to hold out until my grandmother came to visit and make puppy dog eyes, but I don't know if I can wait that long. XD Microwaves aren't that expensive, right...? Man, it's in such good condition if only the keypad would work!

PLUS I think I have to do extragalactic-ph this week, and also get a quote on airfare to Brazil, and... stuff. o.o I don't think I got anything research-related done today, despite my actually doing things at work. At least, I think I did things. D:

I think my neighbors are playing video games... it seriously sounds like I live under a laugh track, lately. :x I know, it's dumb that it still bothers me so much. I just hope I'll be able to sleep in my living room while my grandmother is visiting. D: Hm... there seems to be a lull now, at least. I just wish I could, you know, sit on my couch and read or something on any given night without being distracted. I want to finish Watchmen!

And finally, totally random, but it looks like Merlin will start airing on NBC on June 21st! YAY A DATE! :D Now to recruit people for Merlin Nights...

We have mini marshmallows?

Ben 10 & Kevin 11 - score!
XD I love it when Amazon sends me emails like "Kids' shows for under $10!" And look, there's Ben 10. XD Don't tempt me, Amazon! Not when I can get all four seasons of Ben 10 for $45. (Why is season 4 $15 when the other three are $10?)

jdafl;jka I am going to get nothing done today. XD Tooootally slept past my alarm (that's what I get for not setting the loud one, stupid) and woke up an hour later than I'd meant to, but in my defense I could not fall asleep despite the fact that I was up at 8:30 yesterday morning. I think I fell asleep finally around four. ;_;

But all this was okay because I just needed to be here in time for Journal Club... then I met with my advisor, and now I'm going to a thesis defense in 10 minutes. But it has something to do with actual AGN! :D Woo~ (As does the IAU conference in August - I just got the program and it looks really neat! AGN TALKS WHEEE~) AND THEN I NEED LUNCH. So. Hungry. D:

Now. If only MACSJ2129 would cooperate. And not be dumb. But alas, it is. Stupid cluster. :x I hate you and your inexplicable data.

Next up, X-ray fluxes and then I delve into the exciting world of IR!

(Wow. Sorry, that was all probably unintelligible. D: Uh... tennis! <3) Can you tell I'm tired? XD; I feel like I may actually attempt to shorten my belt this evening, but other than that and trimming the hair, Drew is so done and I don't have to sew anymore until Sunday yay~ :D Now if only I could find the tank top I used for Tidus... it would be perfect to wear under Drew, but I really have no idea where it is. :x

Okay, I'm going for reals now. XD Back to your regularly-scheduled Friday~

Fantastic Four - 4
Woo, I was in early today! (I realize it is no longer early, but I was.)

Cosplaaaay! (And other related crafts.) )

Um... unfortunately, that's really all I've got. I've been sewing kind of nonstop for the past few days. Except for a few hours yesterday when I needed to take care of random stuff, like double-check the insurance for the new car and call my credit card company because HI, Square/Enix, I do not play Final Fantasy Online WHY ARE YOU CHARGING ME I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO YOUR SITE. D: That was unhappy, but thankfully the charge got taken off. If it happens again, though, I will be very displeased. (I Googled the issue and apparently it's actually common for Square/Enix Play Online to charge random people who've never heard of them out of the blue? That's totally not cool!)

Though yesterday was made of a bit of work!fail, in that I have been exhausted all week and yet every time I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour, I lay awake until four. And then I totally forgot to set my actual alarm on Tuesday night so when my phone alarm woke me up, I didn't realize it and fell back asleep. At least I got to the office in time to go to extragalactic-ph (it was a special talk though, I'd forgotten), but then Vicki wanted to meet today instead of yesterday, and I figured that if I sat in front of a computer screen for long enough I'd pass out, so I figured screw it and I just went home to get the millions of other things done that needed doing. My house is still not clean, but I think that will have to wait 'till Sunday.

Okay, that's it for reals. My life is so not exciting. XD At least the weather's nice!

If I thought yesterday was made of distraction, clearly it was only building up to today, which is made of distraction times ten. D: What gives?

I have actual work to do, but I keep sitting around thinking how much I want to sew or write or even clean out my apartment. XDD I also need to call Valerie, because I meant to do that this weekend and then it didn't happen because I fail.

I mean, yes, these are all things that need to get done, but this X-ray analysis also needs to get done. (Though it's really pretty much finished - now I'm just working on how closely matched the ACS and Chandra images are, and double-checking my variable lists.) And I know by the time I get home I'll no longer feel like doing anything useful with my time. XD Though I should vacuum. I cleaned the bathroom yesterday, but didn't vacuum. I should also look into renting one of those steam-clean-things for my carpet. The sewing room could really use it.

Plus I have to get the oil changed in my car and the tires need air. But I don't like going out and doing this stuff at night. Thankfully the sun sets later now~

... Seriously. D: Distracted! Help! Maybe I'll take a quick walk to the Union and back to clear my head. THEN I WILL CORRELATE CATALOGS. :D
