I was going to post pictures of my almost-finished Gwen, but none of them came out well. ::dies:: Alas; I'll just wait until it's completely done. All I have left to do are take in the skirt a bit and hem it, and find something for the tie closure on the red thing~ The lace on the font actually came out pretty well, at least! (Okay, you can have a picture of that.)

Well, I am getting closer to creating an X-ray exposure map. I'm not there yet - somehow I stalled out on the last step because I'm still missing keywords in my input files, but the awesome girl at the Chandra helpdesk who is so nicely walking me through this is out of the office today, so I guess it's back to inputting redshifts for today. And I thought being an astronomer didn't require secretarial levels of data entry; good thing I spent so much time working for my dad way back when (who, incidentally, is totally paying my sister a better hourly rate this summer than I get doing this, lucky girl~).

I actually worked on my PJO story yesterday (woo!) and I even finished reading my geekiest book of all the geeky books ever so I can now finish The Demigod Files and probably actually start reading The Last Olympian this weekend. I think I keep putting it off because I don't want the series to be over. I have this problem with many things. It's why I still haven't finished Enterprise. D:

I also wrote almost 1,000 words for my Star Wars fic, but the thing seems to be in a constant state of flux. I keep flipping between wanting to make it just AU (as in, take everything up to mid-Clone Wars as canon and then veer off in my own direction) and trying to make things fit up through Revenge of the Sith. I still don't know what I want to do with it. I have all these ideas. There are too many of them! XD Ah, Star Wars. Why must you be difficult?

Speaking of, I think I'm going to treat myself to a trip to the bookstore tonight, because my $50 Borders rewards card came in so I can buy a book without actually paying for it! And there's a new Clone Wars book out by Karen Traviss, and it involves Ahsoka (actually, all the Rex/Ahsoka shippers will probably be happy with this one, reading the description...). Therefore I totally must own it. (Though clearly she needs to stop writing Clone Wars and get cracking on that next Omega Squad book! I NEED THAT THING. :O)

Merlin starts this weekend on NBC. Everyone should watch it~ :D

I think maybe it's time for an early lunch.

Okay. I think I really am done packing and cleaning. It's so weird to have almost NOTHING in my bag, but I only need four days' worth of clothes and toiletries and stuff.

NTS: Get the Lexus VIN and buy Arch tour tickets! (As in: Jen~ I was going to email you but hopefully you'll see this? We can buy tickets for the Arch online ahead of time. Frank suggested getting tickets for 1:30 or so on Saturday; do you want me to just buy them and you can pay me back when you pay me for the hotel? :D)

Whew! Today was a bit insane; haircut (yay!) and then attempts at work (somewhat successful, though I did talk to people about that conference in Brazil and got a bit of that sorted out), and then I came home to run (since I can't go on Friday) and CLEAN (I needed to finish the vacuuming and do some laundry and wash off my deck furniture and clean the kitchen and bathroom). It meant I wouldn't have much time to sew but I figured actually getting things clean would be more worth it. I did finish up Nina's bow, which is officially my favorite part of the costume so far. XD The top is mostly done-ish (ignore the hoodie behind it XD) except for some refitting issues, and I do have the skirt and the white panel on the front made. Now it's time to play with foam! (Well, not now, but next time I sew...) I also BRUSHED THE CAT. This is no mean feat, believe me. XD

I still need to dust and clean off my kitchen table and my desk, and there's that whole packing thing, but thankfully I only need about four days' worth of clothes so it shouldn't be hard. I probably won't have time to sew tomorrow, since I want to go running before NGN; I've added about another mile onto my run, which not only takes longer but makes me slightly more tired, I think. XD Though I really need to up it again in the near future. Maybe my grandmother won't mind if I disappear for an hour every other day while she's here. :D;;

Ho-kay, I have two logs to respond to and possibly that dusting, but more likely just some reading or something before I collapse. I will not watch more Venture Bros...

Oh, and! To everyone who knows a bit about TNG, I got this in my dept. mail the other day. And I sporfled. XD

Jennie got Bad Girl today! It needs a bit of adjustment so she's sending the dress back, but it's only a day or two of work (new sleeves and taking the waist in a bit), so no biggie there~ I knew it probably wouldn't fit exactly right; I am so much better at fitting things when the person's right in front of me. XD ::fail::

Aaaand I have a tag to reply to, so I should attempt to get to that before I collapse into bed. And I wanted to post up my Merlin fic in my writing journal and reply to a comment I got from fanfiction.net~ :D; I really need to get on finishing that PJO fic - I realized that if I don't get it done by May 5, the new book will come out and totally ruin it anyway. XD Ahaha. I don't think I'll be done by then, but we all knew this fic was totally AU anyway. :D;

Whew, so! Busy weekend~ (Well, except for the part where I accidentally slept through my alarm today until 1pm. I swear I barely remember it going off. D: I had this weird dream I that was hanging out with the Pevensies and trying to rescue random animals...) But! I finished Bad Girl for reals~ (And the Lara top, not that it took long. :D) Pictures here! (Because I am too lazy to cut them or something.) I managed to find some window lining stuff at Lowe's yesterday that works well for the skirt... now to figure out how to mail it to Jennie. XD Need to get that out within a day or two~

I also finished the sleeves on Drew. (Yeah, it looks awful on the hanger. XD) But then I realized I need more black for the boots, so it's off to JoAnn's tomorrow, I guess? I went to Center Stage today to look for a sword, but even though their website (and their door!) said they were open, they were not. D: Maybe they're not open Sundays during the non-Halloween season? That's weird, though. I guess I could try that again tomorrow, too, if I can get there before 7.

Finished my flashfic for the Merlin comm (and found out that I really like writing Merlin and Lancelot, which is kind of scary and may mean I might have to do it again in the future XD). I really should be working on that contest entry fic, but while I have most of the thing planned out and I know what's going to happen and I'm interested in the story and all, I don't really want to write it. >>; We'll see if it actually gets done in time. Even if it doesn't, I can always finish it later and enter it somewhere else, I guess?

Look, I made a glove! :DDD Whew, that was hard. XD That's my... third attempt? Please ignore the wrong colored-thread and possibly visible labeling, I needed to see what I was doing! Step the next: cut out sleeve-length pieces and make gloves on the end of them! Ack! Talk about scary. XD I think I will put that off a little longer and work on the boots first, perhaps.

Alas, I didn't get a whole lot done except for the prototype glove and I sewed together two plushies, though they still need to be stuffed (probably during Heroes and NGN). I need to run to JoAnns and Home Depot to finish up Bad Girl, and as soon as the laundry is done drying (actually... I should get that in a sec) I"ll have the tank top I'm going to use as a pattern for Jennie's Lara top. I foresee a lot of sewing in my future. XD I may not get Uther and Gaius plushies done in time for the craftalot Craft-a-long, but they will get done!

In non-costume-related news... I went over to Elizabeth's today to fangirl Prince of Tennis some more in an attempt to continue to learn more Japanese. Always entertaining. XD

... Wow. Today's the first day in a long time where I opened up Word and didn't have to click the "ben 10 - the color green" file to load it and start working. It boggles the mind. o.o Now on to other things! Like merlin_flashfic challenges and that half-finished PJO fic and an actual contest entry that's due the 15th! (Is Ollie too weird a name for a main character? Could you read a story about someone named that without sporfling?)

Finished up the closures on Bad Girl today while finishing Season 1 of Venture Bros - I only stole the first season from Nathan and now I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS OMG. D: I am currently torrenting more. XD But it might take a while...

In other news, Jesse brought over Dr. Horrible today so we could watch Commentary: The Musical. It took a song or two for me to get into it, but it was really quite entertaining. XD I think I was expecting more actual commentary in song format, instead of just... wacky hijinks in song format. But hey, nothing wrong with wacky hijinks!

And I know I'm slow on the uptake, but I originally stole this from Skuld because it was so funny: MIT > Harvard. XD Just in case you haven't seen that yet~ Go MIT!

And now I think I will go and do nothing useful for the rest of the evening. Uh. Not that there's all that much left, I should think about bed in an hour or so...

Oh, wait, one more thing! Merlin and Arthur amigurumi. THEY ARE SO CUTE!

So I just got an email with this from Frank. Apparently he's... doing something work-related and their booth is right next to Cartoon Network and Disney. I AM SO JEALOUS. XD I'm merging X-ray images and he gets to stare at clone troopers all day! So totally not fair.
