So! I changed my journal layout, except that it got more boring. XD; Alas, I don't like ANY of the layouts currently available all that much for what I wanted. :x Ah well, simplicity is good? And I also want to put in at least two more new icons, only I am so absolutely indecisive about which ones to kick out. Why am I so bad at this? D:

Anyway~ I don't usually do year-end things, but Jen's meme insipired me somehow. Except I have a TERRIBLE memory (no, seriously). I will do my best, though!




1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
I drove across the country to Los Angeles! That was exciting and interesting. XD I'd never been to California before~

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I mostly did! I think the only resolution I made was to write at least a little bit every week, and I think I did that for the most part. I have a couple I'd like to make for next year, but they're nothing too major.

3. Did someone close to you give birth?
I... don't think so? I think I'd remember that. XD;

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year, no. Thankfully. <3

5. What countries did you visit?
No new countries. D: Not that I've been to all that many in the first place. XD;

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A work ethic? Or at least more of one. And possibly some new bookcases. ;D

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
You want me to remember dates now? D: I don't think so. XD; I do remember my sister graduated from college, though! That was important. :D And Valerie graduated too. Now she's a doctor and you have to listen to her!

8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
... Probably that I finished a ginormous Percy Jackson fanfic. XD; Okay, uh... I passed my orals? I think I did that this year. It was at the beginning of the year, though.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Um... I still fail at CIAO? And Gemini isn't giving me time in the spring. Um... I didn't win a couple of the writing contests I entered. But there's always more~!

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really, aside from a cold or two.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
You mean, aside from the Merlin DVDs with the rollercoastery goodness? XD; Ptolemeios, maybe, because it was time for a new desktop.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Diana's - when she stood up to that guy who was bullying that girl, I was so proud of her. I wish I could be like that.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
None of you guys~ <3

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, naturally, but if you disregard living expenses, I think you will find that either Borders or Disneyworld acquired a siginificant amount of my income. XD;

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to the Star Trek Experience in Vegas before it closed, Dragon*Con and meeting Avery Brooks, and the Disney Halloween Party~

16. What song/album will always remind you of 2008?
... Camp Rock or High School Musical 3. Please do not shoot me. ;_;

I. Happier or sadder?: Happier? I think I'm really about the same...
II. Thinner or fatter?: Same, alas.
III. Richer or poorer?: Poorer. D: But I don't think by too much, at least.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing and situps. XD Possibly cleaning or redecorating.

TV-watching, I guess? Though I usually enjoy what I'm watching.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Christmas morning was with Mom, then Jennie and I went over to my dad's and came back for dinner with my mom before I stopped by Stacie's for a bit. Then Jennie and I watched Clone Wars. And then we were tired. The end!

Um... I don't know. Maybe October? I think October was nice.

Nope.

That would be none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
MERLIN >D Clone Wars is a very close second, though. And possibly Enterprise, if that one can count.

A Strong and Sudden Thaw by R.W. Day. That is a seriously awesome book. It was absolutely amazing.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Uh... Sadly, probably Disney Mania or something. I have dumb music tastes. Please don't pay attention to them. >>;

28. What did you want and get?
An Enterprise communicator and phase pisol.

29. What did you want and not get?
A Camp Half-Blood shirt. But I'm going to get one!

30. Favorite film of this year?
Uh... what came out this year? I don't go to see movies. ;_; Probably Clone Wars or something. Unless Prince Caspian came out this year. Did it? Why don't I know these things?

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
27. :D I was in Boston so Jennie and I went shopping and then we had dinner at Uno's. I think I might have made her watch Merlin, too. XD

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More satisfying? Uh, maybe if I'd worked more on my Ver story. It's just sitting stagnant on Gdocs. It needs to get written.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
I think it... possibly grew up. A little bit, anyway. XD Or that might just be the fact that they've started making nerdy shirts in girl-shapes. I like jeans and nerdy shirts. :D; Oh! AND HATS. I need to wear them more often~

Wait, I'm sane now? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Connor Trinneer. >>;

Monica, actually. I have her email address around here somewhere - I think my mom gave it to me last year. I should write her.

Nathan, because he is awesome. XD He is an excellent addition to our Heroes and NGN group~

It's okay to start in the middle of a story! But then you have to remember to go back and fill in the beginning. ;D
