So, uh. I bring more pictures? Mostly just because I slaved away on this for most of the evening (from 7:30 until about now) so I figure at least I have something to show for it?
So I went to lay out the fabric to work on it... and Sashi decided to "help":

XD What is it about pieces of fabric on the floor that attracts cats with more consistency than catnip?
Anyway, here's what I have done so far! There are no sleeves yet, and I still have to do the tie on the front and take an iron to the seams, but it's mostly done! Which is good, since the worst part of HP cloaks is that they're lined, so you have to make two for every one you actually end up with. ._.;

I tried lining it differently than I've done previous cloaks... I think it actually turned out really well! Basically I made two complete cloaks and connected them everywhere but the armholes. So the only inside seams at all will be where the sleeves attach, which no one will see. I'm rather proud of how well my ad hoc method turned out, if I do say so myself. XD; Even if I had to turn it inside out and take it in a couple of times. Gah, I just did not need that much fabric flapping around my robes!
I think I am definitely going to put my name on the back. (Or, well, Mallory, anyway. XD;) I'm not sure about the stripes or stars on the sleeves... they look hella cool, but I don't know if I want them, and I might not have time anyway. Well, I guess I can always put them on later? Now the question is, what kind of design for the name on the back! I've seen so many different ways to do it...
AND NOW I AM TIRED. =_= I'm tempted to take tomorrow off from sewing, it would be kind of nice... And maybe I'll go to JoAnns and/or Michael's instead, to get Pippi supplies? Gah, I have to get the other two wigs I need, I'll do that tomorrow too. And I think I'm just going to wear my brown work boots for Pippi, which is totally wrong but I have no clue where I'm going to find her shoes. :x It'll be okay, I think~
So Leah moved out of the back of the office yesterday, finally clearing it out for the postdocs who are supposed to set up camp there. The first one arrived today; I totally forget his name (I am awful with names ;_;) but he seemed pretty cool. He's Australian. And he was amused by the action figures. :D; Always good!
Okay. Now I am going to go watch the rest of Return to Neverland, which I tried to do while eating dinner but then the power went out so I had to read and eat instead. And then maybe I'll work on my PJO story some more... or just get lazy and read or something. XD; I am beat!

Thank you! :D <3 I might actually end up leaving them on, I'm not sure yet. They don't look as bad as I'd first thought, so I'll definitely consider it!
But I met you at
Yay, can't wait to actually see the done deal at D*C!
I think I may die of heatstroke. XD But hopefully I'll look cool doing it. XD;
That sucks. :/
Well, at least you'll look cool fainting or something. I'll just look preppy. :p
XD; Okay now I want to take pictures of us swooning in the heat in our costumes.
We can photoshop Draco and the twins in, even. >DAnd I am all for photoshopping our boys into pictures with us. YES I AM. :D
Also, can tell me which hotel we're staying at and what the address is? :D
And you should get a costume together to so we can all hang out as Snogs girls someday. XD
XD It'll be brilliant~
Yep! We're staying at the Hilton Atlanta. The address is 255 Courtland Street NE, Atlanta, GA, 30303. (And their phone is 1-404-659-2000.)
Okay, yay! :D *writes down address* Thanks. X3 And I think I'm going to make the decision that there's no way I'm going to make it through security with a carry-on that'll hold all my costumes so I'm just going to check my baggage in. ¬_¬ Which means that if it gets lost it'll have to get directed to either the Hilton Atlanta or my friend's house in Raleigh. God I hope they don't lose my luggage. *sobs*
:D No problem~ Hopefully they won't lose your luggage! I know it's not all that rare, but it doesn't happen *all* the time either at least, so there's a good chance you'll be fine~ :D
Also, are we bringing swimsuits so we can lounge at the pool? :D I would love to spend some time outside splashing about. XD
Kitties are so good at helping your fabric stay on the floor!
XD They are~ What would I do if my fabric's gravitational polarity suddenly reversed without her?
and yes, robes+heat is going to suckDefinitely. ;_; Too bad brooms don't double as fans!Also, are you doing quidditch pads? Are you making or buying them? I've wanted some for a while so I'm curious :D
I want to make some of my own, but I don't have time this year. So I just bought the kids' costume ones, because I am SHORT and they fit. ::diiies:: But I definitely hope to make my own in the future!
I'm not sure how it happened, seeing as how it was in the middle of my suitcase, in bubblewrap and surrounded by clothes. But it came back in two pieces. However, the other mug that was right next to it - perfectly unscathed. Needless to say, you don't have to pay for the broken mug, but you're more than welcome to keep it if you'd like to try gluing it back together. I think it's only in two pieces... maybe one smaller little piece. Again, I'm very, very sorry.
To make up for this, I'll give you some good news! On my last day in Japan, I found the Ryoma Star Night Rare card (or whatever it's called) for you! So you at least get something to replace the mug, even if it's not quite the same. Wow, this comment got long. ^_^;;
Also, OMG STAR CARD YOU WIN~ Thank you so much, that's so cool! <333
