So! As I promised Daisy, some progress pictures of Lucy!
First off, I'm going for this:

I'm not *quite* done with the top yet - I actually think I don't have enough braid to go around the sleeves (but I need to check) and I haven't done the braidy-trim along the top and front yet. But! (I turned off the flash to try to show the color properly, but that made it slightly blurry... I just can't win, I guess. XD;)

BTW, I obviously did not embroider the top. I just found something that looked reasonable, since I'm not quite *that* hard-core (yet? :D;). I think I'm going to cut the silly sequins off, but that will take forever so I haven't done it yet. :D;
Anyway, there! I have the underdress done except for hemming the sleeves and the bottom, and the split skirt just needs to be hemmed. I really am approaching done! Shoes are ordered; I'm waffling over the wig color, but hopefully that will get ordered in the next day or so.
Progress on the Slytherin stuff got put off to work on Lucy, but the pants just need to be hemmed on the top and bottom and the cloak is cut out, just not completely together yet. So! I just might finish these AND get Pippi done as well; we'll see how the rest of this week goes, but I still have next week and also my grandma says she doesn't mind if I sew while she's here, so there is that as well~ I would like to have Pippi at least CUT OUT before she comes, though. I suppose I should look into a wig and shoes for that. And I need a new wig for miss Mallory, so I suppose I should hit up eBay~Some days I wish I had straight blonde hair by default. XD;
Um... so that was what I've been working on since I got home? I finally got geomap and geotran to work for me at work, but now making the tables is not working. :x I think it must be a rule that nothing can go right on the first try. Alas. And I was going to start looking into how to download and/or analyze the Spitzer/Chandra data for these clusters, but that's apparently much easier said that done. Gah.
Watching Return to Neverland makes me want to make Peter Pan right now. :D; ::fail::
And now I want to either get some writing done, or get some more Percy Jackson read~

Maybe it's just me and the picture, but do you actually have an overlocking machine? D:
Yep, I was using the serger for most of this, and it does that nifty cut-and-overlock-stitch thing~ It just makes the edges so much neater!
Thanks, though! I'm really excited with how well that top turned out! XD Hopefully my Quidditch robes will turn out as well! Now if I can only get everything done in time!
I think the week after my orals is going to be me frantically sewing a new skirt for Ora (my first one was kind of made of fail D:) and that'll be all that I have time for, I think. D: Man, I wish I had a serger because then I wouldn't have these horrible-looking fraying hems all over the place. Ah well. X3
XD Well, thankfully skirts aren't *too* hard... the first one I made took me forever, but after that it got much easier~ You can either do rolled hems or use fray-check if things start fraying badly, but otherwise at least the hems go on the inside so no one sees them! ;D
"Tie me up.....oh wait no one's there."
